Hard working, happy Hazel class can look forward to a fun, stimulating and exciting curriculum this year. For our Autumn term topic we’re heading back in time to Roman invasions and Roman Britain, starting with a fantastic fun-filled day delivered by Forest School. To The Amazon we go in the Spring term – down the river and through the rainforest. Staying with South America, we will then learn all about the Maya Civilisation in the Summer term. Moving north for our final topic of the year, we head to the USA.

Year 4’s can look forward to fun and engaging activities throughout the year, with many opportunities for creativity, collaboration and challenge.

Home Learning
Spellings will be sent home every Monday, to be tested on Friday.
Children are expected to continue learning times tables at home by completing the challenges on Times Table Rockstars. In addition, there will be a weekly times tables test.
Children are expected to read at home four times a week and to have their reading diary signed by an adult.
Children will be given a homework journal to complete topic-based activities. They will be able to choose which tasks to complete, which will then be shared and presented to the class on a fortnightly basis.
